You can learn a lot information about intellectual property rights – how to protect your product, what are the common pitfalls and how to go about expansion abroad, particularly to the US market.

Vojtěch Chloupek – Partner, Bird & Bird
Vojtěch is a Partner at the Prague Bird & Bird office and the head of the Intellectual Property and Tech & Comms Groups in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He specializes primarily in intellectual property, information technology and competition law. His expertise covers both contentious and non-contentious aspects of various intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks, designs, patents, unfair competition, information technology and domain names. Vojtěch is a member of the Bird & Bird steering group on the Unified Patent Court and serves as the President of the Licensing Executives Society Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Pavel Hejl – Associate IT law specialist, Bird & Bird
Pavel Hejl is an Associate of the Prague Bird & Bird office and is a member of our Intellectual Property and Tech & Comms Groups in the Czech Republic. In his specialization Pavel advises predominantly on a full range of contentious and non-contentious matters of IT-law (software licensing, legal matters of IT systems implementation, distribution, online commerce, cloud computing, open source, data protection and data security law) including end user license agreements, database licensing agreements, contractual negotiations, software copyright protection, outsourcing arrangements of all kind and cyber security matters, as well as assisting to technology-related mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions.
James M. Heller – Consultant, Bird & Bird
James Heller is a highly-experienced intellectual property and information technology law attorney. His expertise covers both contentious and non-contentious aspects of various intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademarks and designs and all related aspects. He currently works as a legal consultant at Bird & Bird. Besides frequent advice on numerous intellectual property and information technology matters, he also regularly assists clients in connection with various contract, finance and regulatory questions, litigation, technology, internet, software, communications, film, entertainment, publishing, online distribution channels and rights protection. His experience covers clients from start-ups to multi-billion dollar companies on three continents.
Kateřina Hartvichová – Patent Attorney, Inventia
Kateřina Hartvichová is a Czech patent attorney, European patent attorney and a European representative for EU Trademarks and Designs. Since 2003 she has worked in a patent office and in 2012 she completed as a professional qualification for Czech and European patent attorney. She is actively involved in the education and training of patent attorneys for the European qualifying examination. Kateřina is a member of the Chamber of Patent Attorneys of the Czech Republic and the Institute of European Patent Attorneys (epi). She is also member of the Czech Chemical Society and the Licensing Executives Society (in 2009-2011 she was the President of the Licensing Executives Society Czech Republic).
